Frequently asked questions
The questions travellers ask us most before they book
Short answers to the practical questions. For customs and etiquette, the travel guide goes into more depth, and for anything about payment and cancellation the booking terms are what apply.
Booking with us
How do I know you are a real company?
We are a Cambodian travel agency based in Siem Reap, and our name and logo are a registered trademark with the Ministry of Commerce (registration KH/88844/22). The simplest check is what other travellers say — our reviews on Tripadvisor and TourRadar are written and published by those platforms, not by us.
How do I pay, and when?
A deposit of 30% confirms your booking, and the balance is due 30 days before departure. If you cancel 30 or more days before you travel, we keep 20% of the booking and refund the rest. The booking terms set out the full rules.
Can I change the itinerary?
Yes. Every tour is private, so the plan can be changed before you pay anything: add a night, swap a temple day for a market day, or slow the pace. Tell us what you want and we will re-quote it.
Is my visa included?
No. Visa fees are never part of a tour price. We can apply for your tourist visa for you as a separate service, charged at cost.
On the tour
Where do I meet my guide?
Your guide waits at the meeting point in front of the airport arrivals terminal. The exact meeting point and time are in your trip voucher, which you receive at least a week before you travel.
Does the same guide stay with me the whole tour?
With only rare exceptions, yes. The guide who meets you at the airport stays with you for the whole tour.
Are tips included?
No. Tips for your guide and driver are not included in the tour price, so that you can reflect how well they looked after you.
What time do days start and finish?
On most days the tour leaves the hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 am and returns between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Sunrise tours start earlier, and your itinerary shows the time.
Will I have free time?
Yes. Your guide explains each site and then leaves you time to explore on your own. If you would rather skip a guided walk and wander, just say so — it is your tour.
What is breakfast like?
It depends on the hotel, but breakfast is usually a buffet with bread, eggs, fruit, juice, tea and coffee, and often local dishes too. If you have dietary needs, tell us when you book.
Cambodia
UNESCO World Heritage sites (year inscribed): Angkor, 1992; the Temple of Preah Vihear, 2008; Sambor Prei Kuk, 2017; and Koh Ker, 2023.
Intangible cultural heritage recognised by UNESCO includes the Royal Ballet of Cambodia, Sbek Thom (Khmer shadow theatre), Chapei Dang Veng, Lkhon Khol Wat Svay Andet and Kun Lbokator.
How should I greet people?
A smile and “sua s’dei” (hello) go a long way; “aw kohn” is thank you. A handshake is fine, but keep it gentle, and do not hug or kiss as a greeting.
What should I wear at the temples?
Cover your shoulders and knees. Take off your hat and shoes before entering a pagoda or a home.
